Food for Fines

Posted: November 07, 2018 by Noel Seeburg

With the holiday season soon approaching it also means it is time for The Bozeman Public Library to be collecting food for the popular Can the Griz campaign which is a friendly competition between MSU and the U of M to see which community collects the most food donations for their local food bank.

This is not your traditional food drive. Members of the community can bring in non-perishable food items into the library from Saturday November 3rd until Saturday November 17th and for each non-perishable food item they bring in the library will waive $1.00 of their library fines up to $20.00. Suggested food items to bring in for donation are canned fruit, canned soups, canned vegetables, tuna, cereal, and hamburger helper.

Please do not bring in expired food, food that is damaged, or food that does not have a label on it as the food bank is not able to accept them. With this event the library will only waive library fines, not cover fines for lost books or damaged books.
